Required

• scg driver: prerequisit for SANE
• SANE: the main scanning user agent, alternate source here.
• SANE patch: patch to SANE to complie under Solaris
• UMAX patch: patch to SANE for UMAX support

Required to build SANE

• GNU make: SANE will not build with the make supplied from Sun.
• GNU C: some files will not build with the Sun C compiler.
• gzip: to uncompress the files you download

Optional (but suggested)

• xv: if you want to view and convert image formats
• GTK+: if you want to build the X front end to scanimage
• tk: if you want to use umaX-scanimage -- it is a wish script
• NetPBM: converts pnm to other formats (needed for the xerox script)
